FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is one of the most famous methods of uploading and downloading web files between a computer and a web server. Using an FTP program like FileZilla, you can establish a connection to your hosting account and drag ‘n’ drop files or whole directories in either direction and the software will do all the rest. There’re several advantages of employing FTP, including the ability to resume an upload/download when there’s some problem with the connection or the ability to set up different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can create FTP users that can connect only to specific folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, e-mail accounts or other information, which makes it the best option especially if you have to give a web designer access, for example. You can also use an FTP account with famous website building applications such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver and upload the Internet sites that you have created directly from them, without the need to resort to any third-party software.
FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting
You can create as many FTP accounts as you wish with each of the Linux shared hosting service
that we’re offering, since we’ve chosen not to limit this feature. In this way, you can maintain numerous websites at the same time or provide other individuals with access to multiple directories. Once a certain job has been accomplished and you do not want that individual to be able to access your files any longer, you can modify the password associated with the particular FTP account or you can just delete the account with a couple of mouse clicks and quit worrying about anyone connecting to it once again. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with all hosting accounts, will allow you to see the full list of the existing FTP accounts displayed alphabetically. It takes only one single click of the mouse to manage different options for any of them – to modify the password or the access path, to download an auto-config file, etc.
FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our Linux semi-dedicated servers
are very powerful, which makes them excellent for hosting lots of sites. Speaking of which, we have decided not to put a restriction on the number of FTP accounts that you can set up, so you can have a different account for each website that you host on our platform. All FTP accounts will be listed in alphabetical order in the respective section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with each and every semi-dedicated server account. For each of them, you’ll be able to see the access path and to edit it, if necessary. Also, you can set up an account in a client of your preference by downloading an auto-config file and installing it on your home PC, which will save you time. If you have never opened a web hosting account previously, you can check out our exhaustive instructional video clips, which can be accessed through the exact same Control Panel section.
FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
With a VPS server
from us, you’ll get the ability to create an unlimited number of FTP accounts to access your website content. This is valid for all Virtual Private Server setups, no matter the Control Panel that you have selected on the order page – cPanel, Hepsia or DirectAdmin. Depending on your demands, you can set up a separate FTP account for every Internet site or a number of FTP accounts with access to a given folder – if you’d like to allow a number of users to connect to that folder with their own personal sign-in credentials. Even if you’ve never used a hosting account previously or if you’ve only used a shared one, you will not have any problems creating, deleting or modifying any FTP account on the Virtual Private Server, as everything is done through a user-friendly GUI and takes only a couple of clicks of the mouse.
