A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent email addresses under the exact same domain. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be astonishingly easy in case you have a Linux shared hosting service with our company. You can activate this feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-use Email Manager tool, which is included in the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer your hosting account. You will see all the mailboxes that you have created shown alphabetically and next to each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly inform you if a certain mailbox receives all the messages for a certain domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature whenever you like. If there’s activated email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will receive a warning note from our system. The latter won’t disable/replace anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with a few clicks of the mouse if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated account will be managed via our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes under any domain hosted here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a particular mailbox, you will have to click on the symbol with the same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Disabling this functionality can be achieved in the exact same way and will not require more than a click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been activated for a certain domain name, you’ll get a warning notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or change anything automatically.
